One of the hardest things for parents is to release fully our children to God. We know they were given to us as gifts and that we have been entrusted with their spiritual covering. However that responsibility can consume and destroy our peace if it goes unchecked.
I had a vision of that struggle several years ago. In this vision, I was in a “tug of war” with a donkey that was grinning and baring his teeth at me. It’s always a faith builder when you are praying deliverance for small children. I pray for a lot of people and the spirits go the way they came in. If they came in with tears you will have a client that cries through the whole prayer. It’s interesting, but somewhere in your mind you tend to wonder, was that an emotional release or was that inner healing tears flowing or was it a spirit leaving. With adults it’s not always easy to tell. With kids it’s amazing. I had a 4 year old come in for prayer recently. He was giving his parents a real run for their money at home with defiance problems. During the course of my years in counseling and deliverance ministry, I have had occasion periodically to minister to men who have been involved in child molestation. In every case, the legal authorities were aware of the crimes involved so there was not a “need to notify” issue for me which I was thankful for. [Read more…]
Are your children getting educated on the spirit realm by Jesus or Harry Potter? Where are they getting their most effective spiritual training?
I always find it interesting when parents bring their teenagers into our counseling office and those young people have an interest in learning about spiritual warfare and deliverance.
