What issues were you dealing with? Be specific.
I knew something was not right because I couldn’t achieve victory in my life. Spiritual power was lacking as I experienced the same problems occurring time and time again.
How where they affecting you?
The best answer is from Romans 7:15-20, “For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.”
What changes have you seen?
Since deliverance, I still have issues like overeating or “mild” road rage, but I am winning small battles in my mind and heart that are translating to physical victories. I seek the constant assistance of the Holy Spirit to keep out the evil that has always tormented me. And I have noted the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) are much more evident in my daily walk.
Other Comments
Most of the Christians that I knew previously were from Catholic or Evangelical backgrounds (primarily Baptist). These individuals do not know or believe that there are demons that hassle or torment born again Christians and prod one to sin. They do not trust Pentecostal/Charismatic Christianity as a true religion and scoff at their methodologies or beliefs.
It might be helpful to reach out to other Christian denominations and help them understand that their problems may be Spiritual and that there is a way out of their torment through the Power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. The real issue is that there is a legal right for demons to enter doorways into your soul and reside there until those doorways are closed through deliverance.
