No one chooses to be stale, stagnant or stuck in a rut.
But what if it was a wrong choice that caused your delay?
It is possible that decision was based on what you thought was obedience.
God can always redirect your steps if you give him something to work with, but adamant refusal to move can bring delay.
I call this the flesh war! It is when something in you triggers a resistant posture immediately that no one change.
The “I Won’t” Delay – A Personal Testimony
World War III erupted in my head as I defended my position of not entering the Ph.D. program. I rationalized it to look like obedience.
“I don’t need a bunch of letters after my name to minister with the Holy Spirit,” I resounded.
A true statement, but my refusal to consider the opportunity brought three years of delay. When I finally sat still to review this issue with God, I received unsolicited confirmation after confirmation.
I began on faith, and the doors of provision opened wide. I finished in record time, the tuition was paid, and my clients increased 33%. (God has a sense of humor) I did not need the Ph.D., but it was God’s plan, and he showed up and showed off. It was a valuable lesson.
The “I am Waiting” Delay
Another delay that sounds like this, “I am waiting on God. If this is His plan, he will send me the provision first.”
This group heard God, they know the next step they need to take, yet they wait for Him to make the first move.
I hear that all the time with our Christian Counseling Degree Program. People have waited years to enter because they are waiting for the funds to come in first.
That does not line up with scripture, just ask Abraham. He heard God say, “Go!” He did not know where he was going, but he moved one-step at a time with God. Abraham like Moses and many other great Patriarchs walked in blessings when they took that first step in faith.
You cannot enter until you leave! Hey, leaving is Holy too!
So what are you waiting for?
What have you said, “NO!” to that has hardened your heart and caused your delay?
If you are stuck in a rut of wrong turns, then call for an appointment.
It is time to break free from the holding pattern that is keeping you from God’s best.
