How to Spiritually Break-Up With an Ungodly Soul Mate and Return Your Heart to God

“He is my soul mate!”

“He is like a drug that I am addicted to. ”

“He will always have a piece of my heart!”

These words follow one person who swept you off your feet and mesmerized you like an intoxicating drug.  You craved the time you spent with them and never got enough.

The world affectionately refers to these people as our “soul mates,” someone our hearts will always be joined to regardless of time or place. It’s a relationship, even after all these years,  that you use to measure others.

It almost sounds romantic doesn’t it?

Well, it’s not a healthy term! This delusion is a scheme of the demonic realm to steal a piece of your heart and set up an idol where God should dwell.

It is not a soul mate, but an ungodly emotional soul tie that allows demons of sadness and loss to torment you.  Soul ties are established either through sexual sin or emotional control and manipulation.

I remember the day God exposed the ungodly soul tie I had with my first college sweetheart.  It was in a worship service I heard the Lord say He wanted my whole heart, but I had given a piece of it away with my words.

For years, I would say; “He will always have a piece of my heart because he was my very first love!” I romanticized that relationship until the only reality left to it was an idol in my heart that God could not dethrone without my agreement.

I had to make a choice. I could hold on to this fantasy or let God reign in my life.

I chose God!  But it took me actively confessing and repenting for what I had allowed.

3-Steps To Break Up With An UnGodly Soul Tie

1. Confess and repent for idolatry that allowed this person a place above God in your heartby speaking out loud:  “I confess and  repent for allowing (name) to become an idol in my life and I cancel every demonic assignment of idolatry in the name and blood of Jesus Christ.”
2. Break all word curses spoken over your heart by repeating”I break every word curse I have spoken over my heart and soul regarding (name)  in the name and blood of Jesus Christ.  I now declare them null and void.”
3. Break the ungodly soul tie by speaking out loud;  “I now break and sever the ungodly soul tie between (name) and myself, and myself and (name)  in the name and blood of Jesus Christ and I declare that every spirit of disappointment, sadness, and loss associated with the soul tie must go now in the name of Jesus Christ”.
