Are you stuck in a dying marriage? You’ve tried all you know to do and nothing’s working? You want the marriage to work, but your faith is waning, and hope is on its last legs. Maybe your spouse will not get any help at all, and you are at the end of your rope? I’m going to give you a powerful (spiritual!) weapon to use today to bring new life and hope to your marriage and you!
Before I do that though, I need to lay some preparatory groundwork to help you stir up your faith. If you feel that your faith is hanging by a thread, know that your faith matters in all things and I want to spend a few minutes to help you strengthen it! Think of this part as pulling back the hammer on your spiritual weapon! There is not weapon stronger than your tongue even when you have new buy the latest AR-15 rifles. Regardless of your emotions, you need to know in your mind what the will of God is! Consider this small sampling of biblical truths:
- God hates divorce!
- He is no respecter of persons. What he has done for others He will do for you.
- He is able to do abundantly above and beyond all you can ask and imagine according to the power that is at work in you! (Ephesians 3:20. As an aside, you may have figured out that this scripture is the basis for our name!)
- Your struggle with your spouse is spiritual, not fleshly!
- He has given you spiritual weapons for battle!
Now you are ready to employ this powerful force: your tongue!
Your Tongue Is A Spiritual Weapon
That’s right. Do you know that your tongue is a spiritual force for speaking life and death over situations (Proverbs 18:21). Others can also speak spiritual death or life over us.
There are two declarations that you can make now, today, to begin to turn the tide and also stir up your faith. You must do these declarations out loud because the demonic realm cannot read your mind.
1. Break Word Curses Over Your Marriage
Have others cursed your marriage? Have you done it?
“I want a divorce from this man!”
“Your marriage is going to fail”
Repent of curses you have spoken and break all word curses over your marriage. You can use your words, but this is a template:
“Heavenly Father, I thank you for forgiving me for my role in how things have gotten to such a sorry state here and also for the word curses I have spoken over this marriage.
“I break every word curse spoken over our marriage, specifically (list the curse and who spoke it as you remember them).” For example, “I break the word curse at our wedding by my uncle that our marriage wouldn’t last one year.”
2. Speak Blessings (Life) Over Your Marriage
Knowing God’s heart and provision, declare the following:
“Thank you, Father that you are faithful, and I declare that what you have joined together, no man can tear apart! _____ and I are one flesh and speak life over our marriage.
You are a deliverer, healer and miracle worker, and I speak life over us. I am the righteousness of Christ, and I declare that no weapon formed us against will prosper.”
The foregoing is simply a sample to get you started; you can use your words!
The Lord will likely also give other revelation to you that He would have you speak over your marriage.
These declarations (breaking curses and speaking blessings) work because the tongue activates the spirit realm. This power cuts two ways, for good and evil. If there are word curses against you (even from witches, warlocks and Satanists) then the demonic realm has been mobilized to carry them out. That is why the word curses need to be broken by declaration.
Similarly, Holy Spirit is propelled to carry out God’s will when we speak it out according to His word. Declaring scriptures and God’s promises over the marriage causes Him to move on your behalf.
How will declaring these renew and invigorate hope and faith in you? Romans 10:17 us “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (NKJV). There is a mighty blessing that accrues to us when we declare biblical promises out loud because we are also hearing them as we speak them so our faith is built up! It works; put this to the test!
I urge you to take this simple step today and unleash the spiritual power and authority within you from the Holy Spirit!
