This is one of the questions we would like to get a response to in a deliverance ministry survey. We are trying to get exposure for this non-scientific survey in as many places in the body of Christ as possible and get answers to this question and others. We would love to hear from all parties; those who answer “no”, “yes”, “maybe” or “I don’t know” to the question above.
THE SURVEY IS COMPLETED AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE
- Do you believe in the present day ministry of deliverance? (driving out of demons)
- In general, does the church need to be educated about the ministry of deliverance?
- Is your church involved in the ministry of deliverance?
- Which of the following summarizes your view on deliverance?
- In your opinion, what are the biggest myths about deliverance? Only put the answers that you believe and if your answer is not listed, please use the comment box to add your myth.
- I am a (pastor/elder/counselor/church attender etc.):
- My denomination is:
We posted our first pass of this survey on several social networking sites (LinkedIn discussion groups, Facebook fan pages, Twitter etc.) about four weeks ago. We realized, after tallying the responses that the questions needed some tweaking so we have now put out version 2.
We were amazed not only at the results… but also at the level of fervor and passion that people had. Many purposed to preach and teach in the comments box. This is clearly a topic that evokes strong emotions in many on both sides of the is-it-for-today issue. The issue of biggest myths is also an area of great interest to many and we are hoping that the revised question format will help us to better categorize the results in a useful manner.
The reason that we are doing this survey is to understand how to reach people who are open to or have an interest in learning more about the ministry of deliverance. We want to understand their concerns and issues because we would like to make them aware of our services and training resources. We believe that there is a (sizable) segment of the Body of Christ out there who would like to be involved in deliverance ministry in a responsible, biblically-sound and fruitful way and who are simply looking for help and resources to get there.
We understand that this type of ministry is not for every denomination, church or individual and we are not trying to win converts; our experience is that the fruit of deliverance ministry will make believers out of unbelievers when they see the power of God totally upend their prior theological viewpoint. As one sage put it, a person with an experience is never at the mercy of a person with an argument!
Please help us by completing the survey yourself, sending it your friends via email, Facebook or by your social networking vehicle of preference and also by circulating/posting this survey in as many forums as possible. We would very much appreciate your help and have offered to make the results available to all who are interested.
