Are Your Prayers Inviting A Spirit of Death?

Have you ever thought, “I would be better off dead?”

Do your prayers include a “death wish” to go home to be with the Lord?

Do you find yourself disconnecting from life and praying to wake up in heaven?

I have been surprised recently to hear this type of prayer surface frequently during counseling sessions and it is not limited to senior citizens in poor health!

A common refrain is:  “I would never consider suicide, but I think it’s okay to ask God to remove this burden from me and just let me die so I can be with him.”

These types of prayers grieve my spirit because they are not inspired by God. These types of petitions can be initiated by the demonic kingdom putting thoughts in your mind so your words speak death over your dreams, hopes, and plans.

What we might perceive as a quick fix prayer of death is not a lotto ticket to heaven but rather a pathway to even greater torment here on earth!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:21 that we will eat the fruit of what we speak. Word curses like this, that are self-imposed, speak death and can bring fruits of depression and theft of your God-given destiny.

No matter how dark it seems, God always a redemptive plan! Jesus came to bring you life more abundantly (John 10:10).

If you have spoken these types of prayers, turn the tables on the enemy and reverse the curses you have come into agreement with.

Begin by repenting for allowing past defeats to steal your hope and faith in God’s plan for your life.

Then pray the following out loud and boldly (the demonic realm needs to hear you and know that you mean business)!:

Declaration To Break Curses of Death and Infirmity

In the name of the Lord Jesus, I declare before heaven and hell that I will not die, prematurely. I will not die before my time but instead live and declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living. I refuse to be killed, limited, or held back by any sickness, infirmity, or affliction of any shape or form. I refuse to die by air, by land, by water, in my sleep, by food poisoning, by arrows shot at me in the spirit.

I overturn and interrupt every plot, scheme and plan of the enemy to destroy me in advance. I overturn every sentence and verdict from the regions of hell and the grave, covens of witches, warlocks, and from any man or women appointed as a thorn in my life to hurt me. I declare every evil agenda be arrested now, in the name of Jesus.

This declaration is also on our website. You have performed some spiritual warfare and as you meditate on what you have declared, you are being transformed as your mind has been renewed with God’s truth (Romans 12:2). You have stepped out of conforming to the pattern of the world and into agreement with God’s word.

You may need competent Christian counseling or other help, including deliverance ministry, to help identify the origin of that “death wish” prayer and get to the root of it so it can be removed. There is a time and season when our life on this earth will end but God hears your prayers and wants to answer them with fullness of deliverance, healing, provision and blessings!
