Do you see things from your past like a scrapbook full of old pictures?
Have unhealed issues suddenly become raw and tormenting?
Demons are looking for a vulnerable place in your soul to resurrect torment to destroy your future.
You resuscitate demons by meditating on past wounds, lost opportunities, old anxieties, and depressions. When you recite the past, you give demons a royalty check for the original torment song they created in your life. They eagerly join your current circumstance because you invited them. You are hosting a party for past and present demons, and its price tag is your freedom.
We can see this operating in our country today. Revisiting history is stirring up anger, contention, and hatred. Demons are rejoicing by using unhealed wounds from America’s past to incite greater torment for our future. We need to recognize the diabolical plan in operation and rise in unity to defeat this darkness.
Reliving Past Mind Battles
The enemy knows you by your past because it’s the only resource demons can access. Holy Spirit alone knows your future.
When Paul landed on the Island of Malta, the natives of the land immediately shouted out that he was a murderer when he was bit by a snake. That was Paul’s old mantle. The demons knew him as a murderer, but it was not his new name. When he shook off the snake, they called him a god. (Acts 28:4-6).
God has a new name for you, but you can’t get there struggling with the “Lot’s Wife Syndrome.” Looking back over your shoulder will cause you to fall apart like a pillar of salt. You cannot erase history, but you can allow God to use it for good!
When the Israelites were trapped at the Red Sea, they looked over their shoulders and saw their past slavery chasing them. But God put the angel of the Lord behind them in Exodus. 14:19 to shed darkness on their past and light on their future walk.
At the beginning of this year, I heard the Lord speak to me through this scripture:
Do not call to mind the former things or ponder things of the past. (Isaiah 43:18).
God is doing a new thing, and the enemy is doing everything he can to get us to repeat our history.
Your past sins have been removed from you as far as the east is to the west. The Hebrew word for east is Kedem. It means infinite or everlasting. We do not have an East or West pole with a set number of miles between them. Your sin is removed to infinity.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Ps 113:10-12).
Our past is on a cross of forgiveness and grace freely given to us by Jesus Christ. If your past is still haunting you, it is time to take it off life support and connect with us. Rise up over the worldly roar and walk in victory this year. Remember, we are only one intake form click away.
