What issues were you dealing with? Be specific.
I had a lifelong tobacco addiction that was also a family addiction. Through interview, counseling and prayer I discovered underlying abandonment and rejection fears that had never been addressed or faced. In order to cope and compensate I became very independent, self sufficient and selfish, unable to open my heart to giving and receiving genuine love.
How where they affecting you?
My life was lonely and friendships were artificial. Even in the closest relationships there were always walls and escape routes built in. My deepest fears were of being found out to be a fraud, not the person I seemed to be to others. The stress of keeping up appearances led to chronic anger and illness and finally, a cancer diagnosis.
What changes have you seen?
Deliverance was the final step in a long process of healing for me. Over the last year I have had to face illness, loss of income and independence and have been forced to trust in something other than my own ability. I’ve been led from a lukewarm Christian life through a desert where I couldn’t always see God at work in my life.
Deliverance has given me freedom to walk out my faith in a way I never could before. I am so blessed to have this freedom now, as I have received some challenging news recently. Although I know I’ve been healed, the latest medical tests show regrowth of cancer cells. I can let the enemy drag me down with fear of what the medical scans show, but I choose to continue to believe in total healing in God’s perfect timing.

To anyone battling thoughts that you can’t change, that your life is too difficult to manage or that your problems are too difficult to overcome, I can tell you that’s the number one lie the enemy uses to keep you in bondage.
