I Repented So Why Am I Still Suffering With Generational Sin?

Have you repented of the same sin over and over again without gaining the victory?

We are told in Exodus 20:5 that the sins of the father will visit the 3rd and 4th generations.

How might these sins visit? Demonic spirits that are in your bloodline will tempt you with a tasty invitation to sin that will keep the generational curse in operation.

If demonic torment entered your family generations back through the sin of your forefathers, those spirits could still be operational in your life. Once again, they do not necessarily flee at salvation or repentance.

Curses From Generational Sin Can Manifest In Different Ways

Perhaps you have not recognized that your current struggle is due to a generational curse.  Consider this scenario: your father was a gambler who racked up lots of debts, went broke and stole the family inheritance.

You have vowed never to gamble and walk in the ways of your father, but you have debt that keeps you bound.  Instead of shuffling a deck of playing cards at a gamblers table, you are shuffling high dollar credit cards each month.

Poverty was the spirit that came in through the sin of your father’s addictive gambling habit and that spirit is now stealing from you.

The end result is the same and left unchecked this spirit will visit your children and your children’s children.

Repentance will break the power of the curse while deliverance will remove the spirits assigned to implement it.

1. Make a list of repeating sin that you perceive in your family tree.
2. Repent of your sin and confess the sins of your forefathers. You are not asking for forgiveness of your family’s sin, just acknowledging it and declaring it to the demonic realm.
