There is a big difference between being set apart and being isolated! If your temperament leans toward being a type of loner then all too often the enemy will seduce your emotions with spirits of rejection and isolation in order to separate you from the body of Christ.
There are seasons when God will set you apart in a wilderness place because he wants that one on one time of intimacy with you. These seasons are specific times of refreshing that are meant to give you a new perspective while you are walking through the trial. When the season is over you are prepared to launch.
Any season of separation that lasts too long however, may cause you to murmur and complain with spirits of self-pity and loneliness. This downward cycle of negative thinking is meant to erect strongholds of heaviness in order to trap you. Rejection and Isolation work to keep you aimlessly wandering in the wilderness, they are not vehicles to the land of promise.
Isolating for long periods of time can bring in fear of rejection in order to keep you out of a church or fellowship. If you do press past your fear, many times a spirit of religion will meet you at the door and cause you to focus on what is wrong with the church, the pastor or possibly the worship music. The religious spirit will then prevent you from joining anything that is not judged perfect in your eyes. Instead of overlooking the flaws with grace, a spirit of religion helps to rationalize and justify your isolation.
So, where are you today? Are you connected to a community that is emerging, knitted together, with desire and purpose? Or are you a lone soldier still operating out of yesterday’s wounds of rejection and wearing the badge of victimization.
If you are where you are out of rejection and isolation then get up and move as fast as you can. Find a deliverance ministry that is going to carry you over the mountain of wounding and remove the spirits blocking your inheritance. Inner healing of those wounds will not begin until you issue the eviction notice to the spiritual torment in your soul.
It’s time to rise up in righteous anger at the enemy that is stealing your inheritance. It’s time to uncover that lie that has been stealing your time and energy!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jer. 29:11
