The medication for depression numbs. Words like, “I give up, it’ just too hard” and “I don’t care anymore” are part of your daily conversations.
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:4 that there is a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn; and a time to dance.
Satan is an opportunist. He views those times of mourning as an invitation to rob you of your strength and keep you in a continual place of depression.
There is hope with God. For every loss, there is a path to freedom.

- The enemy is not your spouse or the loved ones reaching out to you. The devil and his cohorts are the villains stealing your joy. It is time to aim at the right enemy.
- Yes, there was a time for you to mourn, but that time had a beginning and end. It is time to recognize that you are past that season of mourning. It is time to break free of the enemy’s stronghold.
- God understands the pain associated with the loss that brought on depression. He wants to help you use it for your good. His grace will help you make that step back to trusting people again, and finding the help you need.
A Prayer to Break the Stronghold of Depression
“Heavenly Father, I know that you have a good plan for my life that is meant to prosper me and not harm me, and to restore hope for my future. Today, I make a choice to rise up in that hope and use the anointed blood of Jesus Christ as my weapon. I release the blood of Jesus Christ over every spirit of darkness associated with the strongman of Heaviness.
I bind the spirit of depression that is harassing me in the name and blood of Jesus Christ. I bring all prayers, thoughts, and words that have been spoken over me, or by me, under the judgment of Christ and declare to every spirit attached to these words that you are subject to the blood covered judgment of Jesus Christ.
I loose love, joy, and the peace of God that defies all understanding over me right now in the name of Jesus. I make a choice today, to meditate on you, your truth and your word. I will no longer listen to the lies of the enemy. I pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen.”
This prayer is the first step back to living in the abundance that Jesus paid for you to have on the cross.
