Proverbs 26:12(NIV) say: “ Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.” If a child’s teacher is word cursing him, a spirit has been assigned and is looking for an open door.
Our ministry deals a lot with this scripture. Word curses that have been spoken over you by parents, friends, husbands, wives, and people in authority, can really open a door for demonic torment if you come into agreement with what has been spoken. Words have power, for good and evil, blessings and curses.
I recall ministering to a young woman (for the purposes of this article, let’s call her Debbie) in one of our group deliverance seminars. She had just been released from prison and desperate not to return to the lifestyle of drugs that incarcerated her in the first place. When I was praying for Debbie the Holy Spirit laid on my heart to ask her about her first grade teacher.
When I did that her eyes narrowed and she sat up in her seat straight. I learned that her first grade teacher had told her parents that she had Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and she needed to be put on Ritalin. Ritalin became the gateway drug for Debbie that opened up a lifestyle of drug abuse.
I have seen many children come into agreement with a person of authority like a teacher and believe, not only that they have ADD but, in their words, they are ADD. Some children do legitimately suffer with this but the recent spike in this diagnosis causes concern. For Debbie it was a tactic of the demonic realm to derail her early on. She was labeled, set apart, and made to feel like a misfit. It is easy to see that overcrowding in the classroom has overwhelmed and frustrated teachers. Add to that a typical first grader that has yet to learn proper classroom discipline and the result can be a word curse spoken in haste that can cause our kids to get off track.
That word curse (and others) was broken during the deliverance ministry process and Debbie embarked on a new road that would and lead her rightful inheritance as a daughter of the King!
